I like Radio 1because its new music and an atmosphereI recognise from driving to work, or since I left, driving from London to Durham. It is a morning thing. And I do mean Radio 1, I dont like nostalgia. I like the effernescence of pop music.
Radio 4 is for the evening and so it remains. The Archers, right now, is great drama. The rest is Sandy Toksvig and her girlfriend.

That's a pretty good list, to which I'd add decent transport systems, the English sense of humour and proximity to interesting countries (obviously Australia doesn't qualify and a heck of a hike to anywhere else).
And delete curries, never had a decent curry in London: Kiwi Indian or Thai curries are miles better than their UK equivalents.
